Katie is an Edinburgh based Fashion Illustrator and textile professional. After graduating with Fashion MA from Edinburgh College of Art she has spent the last decade working in within woven textiles and fashion. Producing illustration and creative work for Scotland's oldest artisan tartan mill, as well as working with brands such as Ashley Williams, Charles Jeffrey, Rolls Royce and Celine in her role at the mill. A champion of British textiles, heritage woven fabrics and knitwear feature heavily in her drawings. Katie's work has become synonymous with quick, frenetic and often dark mark making. Working in traditional mixed mediums including pencil, gouache, pastel and charcoal. She explores how the fashion event/ show impacts her emotionally, often reactive, responding rapidly inspired by the pace of the music, attitude, mood and movement of the garment. Katie teaches fashion drawing at Edinburgh College of Art.
