Between Emotions Drawing

The portrait in the center is a self portrait. I layered this over a feint line drawing of buildings to reference the New York City view. In the upper right corner I have a stylized figure. This figure regularly appears in my work as a wild self portrait, and it is usually marked with hatch marks on the shoulders and body to reference the scars that are on my body. I have the figure suspended over the buildings in the corner. It is simultaneously peering in from the outside, flying over the buildings, and falling from the rooftops at the same time. The figures on the left do this same thing with falling vs flight. I chose this color scheme because it is energetic, and evokes emotion in the viewer. on the bottom I have a red line referencing a pulse line from an EKG machine. These images come together to discuss the similarities between ecstasy and anxiety.
