This work is inspired by the dwindling daylight as we approach winter. I create colour poetry using impressions from nature surrounding me and elements from experiences and places, emotions and thoughts, music, memories and dreams.
I use dry pastels which have a matte, appealing surface and give fluidity and an ethereal quality to my work that’s hard to come by in other mediums.
I find inspiration in nature and memories of places, they become gestures and forms in my work, but it's the colours that is my main focus.
I work with first class dry pastel pigments. My artwork has a velvety soft and delicate matt surface and need to be framed, I recommend to use a non reflective glass to get the best result and the colours right.
