Constructing an Enigma Drawing

The original enigma machine must have been constructed from sets of technical drawings. I find it intriguing how the concept was first presented to engineers. However, for me, constructing an enigma, is an enigma. In this drawing construction is taking place in front of the engineering plan set into the background. Surrounding the machine are odd items and impossible shapes. Letters and numbers have been added to the writhing and twisting keyboard heads which have emerged from an egg (the rudimentary stage of existence, the metaphorical embryo) Outstanding from the construction is the number “3” which remains on the background drawing only. I enjoy using all mediums, but this subject was particularly suited to pen and ink.
