I am a pharmacist, worked for pharma sector for more than 25 years in different managerial positions. Parallel to my pharma career, art was always somewhere nearby. In 2015, I joined to Master Program in Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Plastic Arts and Painting. Completed my master program and thesis on 2019 Feb. In my thesis study, changing American Art scene of 1950’s, Abstract Expressionism and Bay Area Figurative Movement have been examined, and West Coast Artist in US, Richard Diebenkorn (1922-1993), who reflected these changes to his art very successfully, has been analysed. Starting from September 2019, I have joined to PhD program of the same University. I worked with outstanding lecturers such as Zahit Büyükişleyen, Ergin İnan, Marcus Graf, Sinan Demirtaş, Turan Aksoy, Gülveli Kaya, Hakan Özer, Yalçın Sadak, Ayla Ersoy, Devabil Kara and Ferhat Özgür in the University. I joined to Mustafa Özel Studio for three years and starting 2019, I am working in my own studio. My experience was in representationally first and then followed in abstract. I often begin with a sketch explorations of ideas, which then hook me into further and then complete development. The drawings and paintings comes together in a harmonious union. I was born in Trabzon, and raised in Ankara, currently living in Istanbul, Turkey. .koksal.art
