Drawing: Ink on Paper.
The “Dünne Felle” (Thin Furs/Skins) series’ name comes from the German words “dünn” (thin) and “Fell” (fur, skin) and it is a highly emotional interpretation of the expression “ein dickes Fell haben” (to be thick-skinned). The artists creates abstract surfaces with textures reminding of fur, grass and other bristly coats, in the now familiar space between the conscious and subconscious. The initial up and down movement of the pen creates thicker, ever rippling lines, with a straight or sometimes oblique trend. Each line gives the tone for the next one. The variable intensity of the ink creates light intrusions giving the surface breathing spaces, an eerie texture and a supple resonance like some unknown energy waves. The thin subtle emotional membrane is expanding, the soul becomes airborne, and every line is now part of a larger transcendental movement.
50x70cm format drawing of resistant to erasing and waterproof calligraphy ink made with a calligraphic pen. It comes unframed in a tube.
