Eva-Maria Schmid born in 1996 is a Swiss artist whose work moves between painting, sculpture, fashion, and design. Her creative process is deeply intuitive and guided by emotion, movement, and materials rather than strict planning. The result: raw, layered compositions that speak in fragments, symbols, and rhythm. Her paintings often feature faces and figures distorted, divided, or mirrored revealing the complexity of identity and emotion. Forms are built through a mix of drawing, painting, and collage like layering. Lines are spontaneous. Colors are chosen instinctively. Texture plays a central role. Each piece carries the energy of becoming. Schmid grew up in Switzerland and spent 10 years in the South of France, where she painted alongside other artists and began showing her work publicly. She later studied fashion design at the Academy of Arts and Design in Basel, where she earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. Fashion taught her precision and form but visual art became her deeper language. Her influences are not bound to a single movement they come from her life, from the garden outside her studio, from a book she saw, from the inner world, and from the act of making itself. Her works are emotional topographies: they don’t offer answers, but invite the viewer to feel, reflect, and connect. ———— Instagram: ems_artist
