About The Artwork

Diploma of participation in the International Biennale. Israel. Haifa. "Myth 22". Dream of the Minotaur. According to the Greek legend, the Minotaur — the monster with a body of the person and the head of a bull which has come from unnatural love of Pasifai, the wife of the tsar Minos to sent by Poseidon (in some sources Zeus) to a bull. According to the legend, she seduced a bull, laying down in the wooden cow made for her by Dedal. Minos hid him in the constructed Dedaly Knossos labyrinth in Crete where to him criminals, and also each nine years of 7 girls and 7 young men sent from Athens (or 7 children rushed every year on a consuming. Captives died, wandering and not finding a way out. According to a number of modern historians, the history of the Minotaur is the ciphered narration about collision of Indo-European cultures with cultures of the autochthonic "people of the sea" (esteeming a bull) in which Indo-Europeans were the winner. In the graphic work I have carried out communication, between the Greek legend and a Holocaust. Work is performed by colored pencils on paper of 59х42 cm
