One work of a larger series exploring Australian pub culture. The imagery references a poster for the 1952 film 'Paula' starring Loretta Young (the woman pictured) which hangs in many classic Australian pubs across Melbourne. The text is a whimsical quote from David Ireland's 'Glass Canoe', a novel about Australian drinking culture and pubs. The visual language used references Lichtenstein's famous 'Drowning Girl'. This work is a mish mash of pub imagery displayed as a carefully hand stitched but tattered wall hanging. Cotton and synthetic thread and beads on linen.

Maddie Mo's multi-disciplinary practice is mostly portrait based as she is enthralled by the human condition, the body and observing those around her. The physical nature of paint and textiles is a main theme of her work as she works in oil paint and embroidery among other mediums.
