About The Artwork
This painting is part of the horses series. I was asked to paint this piece with the key element being empathy and trust. The reference photo was taken shortly after a near death experience, where both horse and rider had to trust and work together to survive. I wanted the viewer to feel the connection in energy between human and animal. Pastels enabled me to fill this piece full of saturated colours and evoke life.
