My work questions the limits and boundaries of intimacy between the inside (private) and the outside (public), between this inner space putting in scene the register of the secret, the hidden vis-à-vis others and the existence of an outside. Through the prism of the distance between the intimate and the collective, between the domestic universe and the public, I also question the spaces of transition (thresholds, airlocks, halls, passages, doors, windows, fences, gates,...) whose spatial articulation defines the physical limits. Beyond their narrative, symbolic or metaphorical values, these transitional in-between, these intermediate non-places are crossroads whose porosity is palpable. They interface between inside and outside, creating a blur between circulation and stagnation, between continuous and interruption. The boundaries of intimacy can systematically refer us to oppositions: private/public, in/out, in/out, individuality/community, singular/collective, proximity/distance, self/other, familiar/foreign, hidden/unveiled. What are the gaps ? With the gradual introduction of digitalisation and the Internet of Things in both the public and private spheres, social codes are adapting. Thus, the intimate and the extimate no longer oppose but on the contrary can complement each other and produce a balance between two parallel worlds. Indeed, a mutation has been taking place for several years in our relationship to intimacy, thus revolutionizing the way we perceive ourselves and show ourselves to others. The constant evolution of the digital virtual and connected objects facilitates its diffusion. According to certain psychoanalytic studies, this exteriorization can contribute to[re]appropriating one's own identity, one's own personality; the essence of one's singular individuality. For some specialists, the exteriorization of intimacy favors the perception of the psychoanalytic self. It authenticates what is shown to the eyes of others whose gaze is necessary in order to legitimize what is exhibited.
