My name is Maryna Polishchuk and my stage name is Marin. I studied painting and drawing at the Academy of Art in Kharkiv, Ukraine. I studied photography in Belgium at the Art Academy in Aalst. My photo works were in the final of the Canvas collection 2008 in Bozar. You can certainly see my passion for painting and drawing in my photographic works. Some people think that my photos are paintings or drawings. I could not describe them better as "photography meets painting", but they are not colages. It is digital photography, developed as analog. My photography is inspired by nature and her own will, her beauty. The life as you know it. I am looking for the paintings made by nature. I try to capture the vulnerable and wonderful moment around us. In this way I want to teach the audience to look and enjoy the environment of every day. My drawings and paintings are mainly black and white. Pastel on paper or oil on canvas. Here is "painting meets photography". They are like snapshots in the sudio, but expressed in pastel or oil paint. In portrait I find recognisability very important. That is not only physical, but also emotional aspect, the behavior. Those are the eyes that interest me the most. It is very banal that they reflect the soul, but to me that is the truth. I try to express different feelings through the eyes.
