„It can take the heart, but not the soul“ Drawing

This work was inspired by a story that my mom told me when I was younger. Because mermaids are girls who die during wedding week, brides who did not live to see their wedding. Mermaids appear to people on the Trinity. In this picture, a man says goodbye to his dead bride, because when the mermaid week comes to an end, mermaids regain their appearance and swim away into their already native waters, leaving only melancholy behind them. With these materials I wanted to show the groom’s inner feelings, and the silence that they are at this moment.
