Natascha Maas is a German painter who inspires us to focus our perspective on the positive in all situations. Encounters, memories, moments. The painter also highlighted this message at her exhibition at the renowned Art Basel in Miami. Abstract and at the same time figurative art styles are combined in her works full of joie de vivre, humor, self-irony and confidence. Maas characters whisper to you, "The glass is half full, not half empty." Natascha Maas about her work: "Someone once asked me why I always paint chubby women...Actually, I don't only paint chubby women. I paint the everyday people. "The ordinary people" as someone said to me the other day. These people inspire me, not the slick, soft-filtered, photoshopped. The ordinary people with their imperfections, hard edges and wobble are refreshing, with their feet on the ground and they tell a story. I find that exciting and since I'm the author or the painter who continues to tell these stories, my stories don't end with the usual "and they all lived..." but with the little note that happiness comes from within."
