Annette Mewes-Thoms grew up at the coast of the North Sea (Germany). She loves water. Since her childhood, she studies the reflections of the water surface, where she discoveres the whole universe…. sometimes it is clear, sometimes distorted. If it’s windy, boat masts become fascinating mendering lines. These lines she has made on her topic. Annette Mewes-Thoms works with a concept. With pencil, paintbrush or camera she crosses lines in several layers. The works grow from layer to layer. Every picture process is an exciting game like an adventure, whose exit is not foreseeable.
