ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Experiencing loss, learning to let go, watching again one of my "bridges to the past" crumbling down. Mature at heart and with my eyes open, I came to realise how subtle and fleeting nature of human connection is that at one point in time came effortlessly out of nowhere, and other time it was hard to grasp it wholeheartedly. The subtle nature of love carried me to the precipice, hoping I'd grasp it and keep it while the journey lasts. I trusted it all the way until the precipice tossed the coin to his favour - time to say goodbye.

Born Kristina Vidanec on October the 7th, 1977 in the city of Zagreb, Croatia. Coming from the eight-year-long suburban primary school and under a good influence of my class-mate, whose dream was to study art, that it was only than the term "Primijenjena" (Applied art) had become a deeply rooted household name as much as the book Bible carried its own significant weight to other people. On the account of unspoken mutual understanding we had both tried to enrol the art school, so we had exercised drawing a chair. I had drawn chairs and female portraits on weekends, in the last 8 grade. I had enrolled in a a-dream-come-true art school. From 1992 to 1996 I studied on the Department of Set Decoration and Merchandising & Design in the Secondary School for Applied Art and Design - I had enrolled in a a-dream-come-true art school. From 1992 to 1996 I studied on the Department of Set Decoration and Merchandising & Design in the Secondary School for Applied Art and Design - a school with a long tradition in art & craft since the mid 19 cent., whose founder was an Austrian architect Herman Bollé. (In the 19th century artist lived in the school's dormitory, and their visually appealing Art Nouveau style of craftsmanship was utilised, exhibited with the purpose to be sold at the international fairs, held in Paris and Glasgow.) I graduated in 1996., making a model of the 16 century Globe Theatre - "Shakespearean theatre done in a manner of a modern Croatian National Theatre." It was my degree work that was a part of the students group exhibition in the school's gallery. PUBLIC PROMOTIONS OF MY WORK, 2004 and 2005: In 2004 I co-founded "Nucleon" with my friends. This was a non-for-profit organization for literacy in informatics and visual culture. I was active and worked there until 2009. as a Graphic/Creative Designer of my friend's educational software, and as a Project Co-ordinator. I had started photographing for the purposes of various graphic design solutions, merging photography and graphics of which my early artwork had consisted of, and was publicly promoted through partnership with "ATP Croatia Open 'Intel Tennis Tournament," in July 2004. and 2005. ('Nucleon' contributed my digital pictures 'Night Fires' and 'Forest Spirit' as special prizes to winners Guillermo Canas & F. Volandri. Pictures had been presented to an audience and broadcast on the TV - HRT.
