About The Artwork
Inscriptions of words, text are absolutely central and words often occupy the mental horizon of my smaller works. The words allude to legends, stories, histories, memories. The words and images sometimes are veiled. Sometimes the content of the words are not visible, the character and dimension of the content are to be kept secret, known only to me. Through metaphoric imagination, and a process of “rewriting” I discover stories, narratives fragments, pieced together into a ruptured whole, adopting different materials, methods and approaches, using fragile, everyday materials, deliquescent raw materials. Its about rehabilitating what has been forgotten, where the past and present interpenetrate as form and interact as content. Stories, History, myth, symbols, memory become a material, making a connection between disparate things and thus creating a meaning. I think in writing as subject and as an important implication in the creative process. The distinction between drawing and writing often breaks down. Writing as pictorical, as “sculptural” writing.

Work represented in several National and International Collections. | ABOUT MY WORK My practice incorporates notions of identity and the self as creative source, appearing as a form of memoir and subjective experience. The vision of myself and my work is covered with many layers of misty images, capturing absence and presence of my body and mind, things are partially or mostly veiled and camouflaged by a skin or a mask. I collate a reservoir of symbolic references. A tactile space dominates, aiming past languages and past stories.
