Nguni Cattle, Dargle Valley, KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, South Africa. Majestically gentle beasts grazing their way through the lush pasture amidst a scattering of winter's leaves, the Nguni breed of cattle is special to southern Africa. A highly-prized hybrid of different Indian and later European cattle breeds, they were introduced by Bantu-speaking tribes to southern Africa during their migration from the north of the continent. The low viewpoint angle of the image accentuates the size of these beasts, making them quite imposing, whilst emphasising their grace.
