"Memory Sculpture: Sculptural Space" from the "Monologues" series, is one of the earliest symbol formations of Memory Sculpture. You'll notice that this piece doesn't yet have the iconic Memory Sculpture stamp. That's because it was created before the stamp-symbol was developed. "Monologues" is the space where it all began, the foundation for all future works and series. Don't miss this glimpse into the origin of Memory Sculpture. Have you ever thought about what our lives would be like if we treated our memories like sculptures? That's the question at the heart of the "Memory Sculpture" ("Gedächtnisskulptur") concept. The Memory Sculpture Drawings feature a recurring set of symbols arranged in novel compositions. Every symbol carries a distinct meaning, and their new combinations give rise to fresh layers of significance. The drawings act as cognitive tools to construct an internal framework of sculptural memory. This work is signed on the reverse and provided with an artist stamp as well as a work stamp with information about the materials, year of creation, title, size etc.

Drawing as sculpting into oneself. "In Mersolis Schöne's artistic work, there are fascinating connections and correspondences between drawing, text, film, and music, on or in front of philosophical underpinnings and backgrounds, as well as between him and artists from all disciplines." (INSEL) Mersolis Schöne is a German Artist, Film Director, and Researcher based in Vienna, Austria. He is a member of Künstlerhaus Wien in Austria, The Professional Association of Visual Artists in Germany, and other associations. The Memory Sculpture drawings presented at Saatchi serve as process-oriented interaction and thinking tools to design an internal architecture of sculptural memory. They consist of a series of recurring symbols that are arranged in new compositions. Each symbol has a fixed meaning, and new meanings are created by combining these individual symbols into symbol formations. During the drawing process, places of reflection, encounter and conceptualization are to be created. For this reason, there is often interaction with other artists, in which the works are created during the performative exchange.
