Indicating the decay of memory and presence, this work is drawn from antique photographs and family albums found at local markets. I recreate these portraits using embossed line and delicately applied charcoal before adding layers of silicone. The images are then worked and reworked as the layers of time are pulled away, exposing a faded and disintegrating visage of someone who once existed but has since been forgotten, bringing us face to face with questions of our own mortality.

Artwork comes floated in a black obeche wooden frame.

Frame Size: 29.7 W x 38.3 H x 3 cm
