Michal and Mika Drawing

Two young girls read a book. Michal and Mika, cousins, sit intimately and read together in a book. This photo of my oldest daughter and niece is one of my favorites. This work is a painting on a fragment of ceramic, undergoing a special raku fire. Raku firing is a Japanese fire that creates crackles on the surface of the glaze when some of it is painted black in the smoke of the fire. The resulting effect is very dramatic and contrasts with the tranquility of the two girls. The addition of few turquoise drops adds freshness and softness to the work. Please note the height of the relief, its distance from the wall is up to 4 cm, in the highest position as seen in the photograph from the side.
