Minimal Intervention; Foreplay Couplet Drawing

I work in series over time revisiting then moving on to the next stop. This allows me many avenues to visit and continuity and longevity within a given style while remaining experimental across my entire practice which includes painting, collage and photography. By branding the series with abstract titles they take on a life of their own. All rooted in one imagination but diverse congregations like generations in a family tree. The Minimal Intervention Sequence is a series I've been developing since 2015 wherein I paint out an extant image in a slightly offputting color, generally a garish shade of emerald. In this case blue latex from the hardware store, Originally intended to challenge the idea of making everything for approbation I gave myself the task of making a series of unlikeable work. Its been pretty successful along those lines. Unpopular with my wife and people who usually cheer me on like my framer Nadia. That said of the 900+ works of art I have here the only piece Saatchi Art has ever featured was the Minimal Intervention "Woman in the Garden"....
