Animals always live in the Present, do not concern themselves what they look like and (unless they are domesticated creatures) don't care what other creatures think of them...unless the other creature is a predator? The inspiration for 'humanizing' such creatures as the Iguana is because of the concepts stated above and the question as to whether we humans take inspiration from these facts...we would suffer less pain!

I was born in Devonport, New Zealand and grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. Now we live in Santa Ana, Costa Rica with my wife, Artist Natalia Wallwork. My influences are from Ancient and Tribal Art, particularly Mayan Art but I'm also influenced by the great Surrealist artist, Salvador Dali. The underlying concept of my art though is the importance of our connection with the natural world, therefore a lot of my subject matter are the Birds, Animals and Fish of our planet. I sign my artworks 'Hilton', my middle name after my great grandmother, Hanna Hilton.
