Other than the photos I take my drawings (or, as the whole surface of the sheet is covered, more precisely my paintings) are photorealistic. This picture of a Mistletoe is based on a photograph taken by Joerg Buess and was executed using soft and hard pastels on Ingres paper. For hanging on the wall I prefer to have my pastel paintings reproduced on canvas mounted on a stretcher frame. On one hand that way it's not necessary to protect the paintings with a sheet of glass and thus the visiual experience is more direct, on the other hand the texture Ingres paper adds to the paintings matches perfectly with the canvas' texture. The original painting just like its reproduction for this limited edition (20 copies plus 2 artist's proofs) has a size of 50 x 100 cm. The stretcher frame has a profile depth of 20 mm. To allow the image to live beyond the edges without the need of a mirrored border, I have expanded the image by 30 mm. As a result you'll see the whole, untrimmed image on the front of the frame and an optically perfect extention beyond the edges. If you are interested in another size or in the original painting on paper, please feel free to contact me!

My pastel paintings are photorealistic, whereas when taking photographs I prefer an impressionistic character. So don't get confued! The originals of the paintings are executed on Ingres paper using soft and hard pastels. For hanging on the wall, however, I prefer to make them reproduce on canvas and mount them on a stretcher frame. On one hand that way it's not necessary to protect the paintings with a sheet of glass, on the other hand the texture Ingres paper adds to the paintings matches perfectly with the texture of canvas. All of my photographs are created in-camera combining long exposure with intentional camera movement. Beyond that I tend to keep post-processing to the basics: in general the finishing process consists only of an improvement in contrast, saturation, clarity, other parameters for image adjustment and cropping. Hope you enjoy what you see!
