Inspired by meditations on inclusion and expansion, on the layers of human experience, emotion and the beauty of it coming together within each of us. With graphite, red pencil and ink on heavy, cold press paper, the image contains a detailed woman with 8 extended heads, portraits of a vast range of emotion. Each head has her own set of hands in different mudra positions -prana mudra for life force, Alana mudras for cleansing energy, prithivri mudras for earth energy, akasha mudras for touching the void, Janna mudras for wisdom, Anjali mudras, a gesture of offering, namaskar mudra, my essence meets your essence, abhaya mudra... have no fear gesture. As an offering of love and compassion, a place for the eyes to delitght in line and story, I hope for this piece to be a place for the heart and mind to rest with and delight in all sides of self.
