Muse - Femotaur. From Minotaur series 2017 Drawing

The Muse or my invented word 'Femotaur' is from my 2017 Minotaur series. She was created as a companion/tryptic to The Young Minotaur and The Old Minotaur ( both male) that crouch either side of her when exhibited together. See other images. The series is a commentary on art history, struggle of the artist, mark making and lines ( Lines - strings to Ariadne and psychoanalysis reference of the minotaur by Picasso, Freud and Jung). I am not aware of another such images of a female minotaur so I guess this adds to the unique quality of this piece. The subject matter in relation to the other pieces, art history and in light of last years gender politics and news/media coverage makes this a good piece of art in own it's time.
