Art Description

Drawing: Ink, Graphite, Paint and Digital on Paper.

The whale ship Charles W. Morgan is shown tired yet triumphant from her trial runs on the Thames River at New London. In it’s heyday, New London was the world's third largest whaling port after New Bedford, Massachusetts, and Nantucket. This ink and watercolor drawing was done onsite from the Thames River. The Charles W. Morgan is the last surviving whaling ship in the world, and an ambassador for peace between humans and whales.
