Moscow, Podkolokolny lane 9 St. Nicholas ' Church in Podkopai. The Church of St. Nicholas in Podkopai, first mentioned in 1493, when it was removed the Grand Duke Ivan III Vasilievich, after a fire destroyed his Palace in the Kremlin. A recent restoration study revealed that the existing quadrangle of the temple was built in 1550-ies.[7] It is made of the so-called Grozny Palomera, thin brick, which was also used in the construction of the chapels of the Annunciation Cathedral in the Kremlin during the reign of Ivan the terrible. The stone is mentioned in 1657. The building, which is dying The painting depicts one of the many buildings of old Moscow that are destroyed and may disappear altogether.
