About The Artwork

This work is about colonialism, both figures have a history of backstabbing each other and it undermines their future together. I see this as Europe and the US fighting each other very cordially but fighting none the less. They both have the underlying shame of having traded in slaves and their subsequent wealth originating in that. In my mind this is a dispute about cotton.
