I am a visual artist in Tucson, Arizona immigrated from Israel. My Inspiration is organic shapes found in nature and the human form, I use charcoal, pencil, and mixed media to create images with striking depth and movement. Although they lack facial expressions, the forms in these works convey movement, feelings, and emotions. The one exception is the woman in "Peaceful Memories" featured on this page who represents my mother when she passed away and I felt that she was finally at peace. I am a visual artist, born and educated in Israel where I studied fine art and commercial art. After military service, I did an art apprenticeship and learned relief work. I used this experience commercially, creating decorative relief inlays for a furniture architect in Israel. I immigrated to the United States from Israel to join my family in Philadelphia, and after a year I moved to NYC, the Big Apple to pursue my artistic interests. I studied ceramics at Hunter College, With the intention to produce useful art for everyday life. Later, I attended The Art Students League of New York to master sculpture. My drawings and relief work are inspired by sculptures and I intend at one point to cast these in three dimensions. After taking time to make a living and raise my daughter, I moved with my family to Tucson, Arizona due to its semblance to the Israeli desert. When my daughter left Tucson to pursue her own career, I started drawing the sculptures in my imagination. I really enjoy doing that, it’s like a sculpture you can hang on the wall. I intend at some point to produce clay and ceramic sculptures, but currently, I offer prints of my drawings as "wall sculptures". I hope people will enjoy them as much as I do.
