Since the moment I remember myself, I have always enjoyed Art. I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1989, the year when my country was involved in a battle to regain its independence from the 70-year-old Soviet regime. It was a turning point for both the country and the people, the point when you liberate your mind from pressure and begin to think reasonably and independently. I have always been curious about how the past has shaped society and why cultures develop differently. I have maintained a strong interest in Art and History to the present time. However, this affection to fine Arts has stayed with me and developed even more. My greatest wish has always been to interpret and give meaning to “the act of seeing what is there to be seen”, So I’ve developed my drawing technique with oil pastel & Ink. For me the creative process is like cleaning an archaeological artifact from centuries-old sediment: carefully and consistently removing dust, when finally the object manifests itself with all its glory and freedom. I would say, my paintings are carrying this kind of freedom and are unveiling the human sorrow by telling us about thirst of coziness and harmony with the universe. I have developed a different painting technique that combines painting and illustration.
