About The Artwork

In this watercolor and pencil on cotton paper, we encounter a captivating portrait that invites reflection on the nature of reality. The depicted woman emerges in reddish and bluish tones, with a depth that evokes a sense of mystery and contemplation. The most intriguing element of this piece is the double pair of eyes on the woman's face. This visual duplication suggests a duality in our perception of reality: What do we truly see? Is reality simply what we perceive at face value, or are there deeper layers to explore? Through this artwork, we confront the idea that reality is subjective and subject to multiple interpretations. The reddish and bluish tones, with their contrasts and nuances, remind us of the complexity of our perceptual experience. Ultimately, this watercolor and pencil piece invites us to question our understanding of reality and to explore the different facets of our perception. What is truth and what is illusion? How can we discern between what we see and what truly is? These are the questions that this artwork urges us to consider as we immerse ourselves in its beauty and mystery.

Zoe Lunar radiates and works in Mexico City, is a graduate of the national school of painting, sculpture and engraving "La Esmeralda". He is an artist in constant formation, who seeks plastic, visual and sound experimentation. His work feeds on time as matter and how it helps to interpret reality, through temporal representations, of spaces that converge in their social context and how this influences the formation and interpretation of our different contemporary realities; making use of the qualities of painting and drawing to make deformations in a perceptive portrait of different moments, and personal times in a single interpretation. He is currently nurturing his plastic work especially in painting and drawing, giving him new outlets like AR in some of his new works and occasionally making music and video.
