The fate of the Powers, raging of Nature The fimbulvetr The « astounding winter » is a great cold that will last continuously for three years. During this winter the sun will not shine anymore. This period of decadence and great wars was accompanied by poor harvests and battles. Extinction of the sun and the moon The sun is caught and devoured by the wolf Skoll - "repulsion" while the moon meets with the same fate with the wolf Hati - "hate". The winds rage and the sky is darkening.
