Richie Havens Original Ink Drawing Drawing

This artwork of mine which is inspired by a personal favourite musician of mine folk singer Richie Havens. When drawing this piece I spent a lot of time on the composition, the style and the overall look of the drawing. Focusing on the mid 1960's portion of Haven's Career I depicted the musician in his early days opening Woodstock which launched the folk singer into the public eye. After putting in much effort time and details the finished piece highlights Havens in his iconic and unique style. The original piece was drawn using a variety of Indian inks which gave me the capability to add in detailed and really fine line work in my drawing to ensure every fine line of hair, shading and texturing were included. This tribute is a great gift for any Havens fan, reflecting every aspect of Havens from his 60's era attire, his dramatic body position showing his famous hardcore open tuning strumming style and his pained facial expression from wailing with his powerful and soulful voice
