About The Artwork
Traveling in Egypt I found this small shop selling papyrus paper. I was so excited, thinking it would be the ideal medium to present my portraits of interesting faces from that part of the world. I was right!!!! For my first effort I decided to do a self portrait. I was wearing a scarf I'd bought the night before in Luxor. I was so happy with the outcome I launched right in on this one. I've found another source on-line to acquire more of this incredible paper. Such a rich texture and history. Google it to see how they make it. Fantastic process!
