Sensual Sunset Drawing

This is my very first work with pastels and is entirely from my own mind. The mood I was in while working on this piece was one of impatient frustration. Music and drawing quelled my inner annoyances of life and the piece developed into a beach setting; a product not unlike one a boy may imagine while sitting in a bathtub with his rubber boats. Later, a brother of mine remarked that the piece had sensual undertones. The two rocks and the V-shaped beach were not hard for a brother such as mine to construe into a less innocent image than a boy immersed in imaginative play in his bathtub. A sensual interpretation was not in my level of perception at the time, although I cannot rule it out as a subconscious activity showing itself in my drawing. I leave you to interpret the work however you see fit. Whether you would like to go back to a more imaginative time or read, like my brother, a Salvador Dali-esque reading. Enjoy.
