I am continuing my body close-up series because I think it deserves all of my focused attention. I am very fond of the vulnerability that comes with being in a woman's body, as well as the raw strength that emanates from it - from Her. Body image is a gigantic issue in our world and I'm no exception to the rule. This series celebrates our bodies as the vessels and the shelters for our souls. Our bodies are but the expression of our inner conflicts and passions, and the battleground for our experiences. They carry stigma, pride, and sensuality. We feel safe in them and at times we feel scared. We are eternal beings in a fragile envelope. It's very simple, the body is at the core of the human experience and I may never stop exploring this timeless theme. Ink drawing on Khadi paper. It's a handmade cotton-rag paper, therefore it is quite thick and the edges are irregular which adds to the delicate atmosphere of the piece.
