About The Artwork
Silver and Gold: Fineliner, Acrylic paint and Marker on Paper. 11,7" x 16,5" inches. The illustration was inspired by the painting 'the kiss' by Gustav Klimt. It depicts the mood of the artist and state of our society's views at the time of it's creation. Emotion is portrayed in a graphic style where shadows are arranged in a modernist way and close attention has been payed to minute detailing. The hair of the women has been painted in by hand with gold and silver acrylic paint. The illustration comes without a frame, so you can choose one to your liking. It will be safely shipped in a cardboard container. This original illustration has not been altered digitally, maintaining an austere, contemporary feel. Signed on the back.

After studying Graphic Design at Sint Lucas in Boxtel and the Design Academy Eindhoven, she studied fine arts at Sint Joost in ’s Hertogenbosch. This was all part of a period where she felt she had to choose between her two passions; art and design, untill she realised they actually complement each other in her works. She started Studio Van Keulen in 2011 as a platform for her artistic endeavours. In the universe of Ivi van Keulen, people are central. Stillness, emotion and message come together in her figurative work and performances. To this day she continues to explore the field between art and design through her out of the box thinking and unexpected collaborations. A feeling that echoes throughout the works of the studio.
