About The Artwork

Created during the coronavirus pandemic. The symbol of a snake eating its tail appears in art history as a subject of renewal. This is meant to give hope. Pastels have a splendid luminosity that feel like paint but they are more immediate to allow the stream of consciousness to flow. Pastels achieve a luscious, velvety texture with vibrant, rich colors. I accentuate that color by applying pastel to black paper.
