Strange Castle nr 2 Drawing

This is the second of serie Strange Castles, inspired by real objects of medieval architecture, but mixed in a surrealistic style. My inspiration were placed somewhere between Les Très Riches Heures du duc de Berry, medieval gothic houses form all Europe and castles from Poland, Preussia and Germany. Deformation and exaggeration of reality combined into fantastic and absurd form typical more for dream than reality. But there is regular form and real logic of late gothic style - except some small details which take off all sense and logic. Those details are: bridge going not to the gate, gate without possibility to go on, foundation of all building, and many others. Finding them is a play with perspective and mind of spectator. I used ink on aquarelle paper with water - it makes drawing less exact and precise, but more untamed. I plane to make more Strange Castles...
