ABOUT THE ARTWORK

He practices morning noon and night to perfect the manoeuvres with the cape. He began as an apprentice Peon and remembers every move necessary to draw the bull away from the master Matador, in case of danger. To the naive, this perhaps is seen as interval entertainment, but it is not so. He visualises these scenes with every rehearsal, as he moves through the differing scenarios that he has experienced as a Master Matador. His foot-work is unsurpassed as he synchronises all limbs, with his Capote de Brega and on-wards to the finale with the Muleta. He is well aware of the changes of natural and artificial light in these arenas, and equally aware of the affect on the bull. One wonders the need for a bull when his display is spectacle enough.
