The Escape Drawing

This picture combines two main ideas: (1) What does it take to get respite from the pressures of a hectic world? And (2) Creating a scene where questions remain as to what is the viewer really witnessing. Ink highlights are added to the initial graphic drawing to induce drama and give the picture a noir quality. The main subject in the foreground is posed with a sacrificial gesture and is apparently leaping from the top of a building. This is to raise questions with the viewer such as, "If this is truly a self destructive event, what is he sacrificing and what will be the ramification?"
