In this evocative piece, I delve into the profound depths of human emotions and relationships through the use of India ink. My name is Miglena Diankova, and I am Bulgarian. I have been drawing since I was very young, everywhere and at all times. In school, I constantly drew, and my notebooks were filled with sketches related to the topics my teachers discussed in their classes. I attended the "Andrey Nikolov" School of Drawing in my hometown of Vratsa, located in the house of the great sculptor . I have won many awards in children's drawing competitions. My parents didn't agree with me being an artist. They used to say that “an artist does not feed a house”. .. In my country, it's not easy to be an artist. Artists often have to have another job to sustain themselves. That's why I studied landscape architecture, and after that economics and ESG management.. For many years I also worked as a flower arranger and painted with live plants. I have made dozens of wedding bouquets and arrangements for celebrations. Unfortunately, my hands got sick and I can't work with the plants anymore. I didn't stop painting, this is my great love. My paintings are permanently exhibited in the RAFAELA gallery in Sofia. Creation of art happens at any time, mostly at night when the world has quieted down, anticipating the birth of the morning and life to stir again. I particularly love to draw portraits and nudes. I find inspiration in the soft curves of bodies, promising warmth and tenderness, in the eyes, the lips, and the emotions implied in their expressions. I adore simple but stylish combinations of two or three colors. My favorites are black and gold, or black and red I draw with ink on cotton paper or cartboard and the technique is called pointillism. The paintings can be framed with alumine or wooden frame, passepartout and anti-reflective glass, whose relief adds additional charm to the images of pointillism.
