About The Artwork
It was in Thiruvannamalai that I had an awakening, in the presence of a spiritual teacher called Mooji. It was a realisation, but nothing really to do with his actual teachings. Maybe it was the holy mountain, Arunachala, or maybe it was the ghost of the Hindu mystic, Ramana Maharishi... whatever it was, my life was irrevocably changed in Thiruvannamalai.

I left art school in 1991. Ever since then, I have been exploring, both internally and externally: making art and writing that reflects this process. In 2006, I gave up being a householder and became a nomad instead, spending the best part of ten years, travelling and living in Asia, mainly in Thailand and India, studying yoga, meditation, tantra and massage. I returned to a locked down Scotland in October 2020. I am currently working on an autobiography, as well as drawing and painting
