Drawing: paint, graphite, markers, colour pencils on Paper.
Artwork has been reframed in a thin very light oak wood. Using non glare high quality clear plexi-glass. Not white as in the detail photo of the artwork in a room.
Colour pencil, multi- layering over a dry brushed paint and Copic markers base on archival paper. I use Lascaux archival varnish, in between layers, applying it daily which builds up a finish similar to that of an oil painting. I call these drawings "Pencil Paintings". They appear as paintings. There is a white border about 1" wide around the artwork itself.
I take my titles very seriously, they are an integral part of my work. This title, Thoughts Above the Trees, I feel is self explanatory, in that it considers an existance after life on this earth. The meticulous details created are applied with colour pencils, I spend about three months on each of my works, absorbing myself in the development of the composition as it unfolds. I hope to convey a feeling of joy and hope in this piece.
