For the past several years Marion Dedic has focused her work on drawings. The initial impulse and inspiration for the creation of drawings is the motif of the animal figure, its skin and fur. Through research by drawing and elaboration, the starting motives range from anatomical recognition to their gradual stratification and reduction to artistic factors. The bearer of the drawing becomes an associative organic form, which moves, breathes, within which the linearly formed patterns move and which are further recognized or felt as part of something living, suggestive of tactility. The almost obsessive repetition of only one or two lonely thematic backbones (the dog and the pig, more recently also the cat) brings a lot of playful variations and different visual solutions, diverse mood and atmosphere. The predominantly monochromatic form of her drawings shows a piece of the world in which the artist prudently and deliberately leaves much undetermined, because life itself, as an eternal creation, does not possess a final form. Marion Dedic, born in 1976 in Germany. Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Department of Painting. Member of ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) since 2009. Independent artist. She deals with drawing, painting, graphics, digital print.
