Salvatore Calì Italian artist born in Sicily (Misterbianco, 16 May 1966), currently lives and works in Gorizia (Italy). Conceptual and multidisciplinary artist, after technical-scientific studies he approaches the making of art by himself. Active since 1987, he resumed his work in 2010 after a ten-year hiatus. Calì is profoundly inspired by his study with Marko Pogacnik (cofounder OHO conceptual group Ljublijana based), and the artistic pratiche coming from Marina Abramovich, Joseph Beuys, Bill Viola, Richard Long... Photography, video and performance are the main means by which it expresses reflections on issues where spirituality, science, nature, social discourse become gestures, actions and works, which interact with the natural and human ecosphere (the invisible "collapses" in the space of reality). In this sense, art and life meet in a common utopian denominator, the ability to be able to change our reality or at least the perception that we have of it.
