In order to resonate with the person or the landscape, I let the emotions come to the surface. The intensity of the contrasts on people and things grips me. This takes me further than the exact representation, I seek everything which brings a vibrating pulse to my work. Contemplation is one of the driving forces of my art. I want to summon the viewer’s memories, remind them of the atmosphere of a particular moment. I try to make my portraits breathe life.
