Woman Figure Drawing

Vedat Ors lives and works in his studio in Istanbul. He is well known to have artists and art enthusiasts coming from all over the world staying with him while visiting Istanbul. His early childhood took place in the Anatolian remote villages where ancient ruins were all around. His curiosity about mysterious scripts, sculptural figures and rock drawings led him to draw and, influenced by his grandmother's wool dying activities, he also started painting with natural pigments obtained from plants. These experiences have greatly influenced his artworks throughout his artistic career. We can always see various interpretations of mysterious woman figures in his paintings. He believes the encounter of Kybele, the Anatolian mother goddess sculpture, and the memory of her working grandmother's image are the inspirations of his paintings. After having done several national and international shows, workshops and having spent several years in his studio in Paris, his works can now be seen in his studio gallery.
