About The Artwork

Straight lines and frontal composition are emphasized by the live drawing of the subject. The perfect color combination -gold, black and white - ennobles the picture despite the simple plot The most famous skull in the world of art for me is Yorick, and there was no other way I could call this picture. But let's dig deeper, aside from jokes. Man at all times was occupied with the idea of death and transition to another world in the spiritual plane. But when we are dealing with a skull, in addition to being a symbol of death in many cultures, it is also a head. The head is the most important part of the body for an intelligent being. Being a part of the head, the Skull protects the brain and a beautiful face is attached to it. But the most interesting thing is that the Skull itself is beautiful for the author in the visual sense. Perfect shape with soft hollows and carved holes, patterned borders between plates, teeth and horns! All of these lights up my creativity! The artist, being a medium between the tangible and the metaphysical world, is very close in spirit to such an object as the Skull. We stand shoulder to shoulder at the intersection of two worlds - the ideal and the practical. Over the years, I love to return to this deep, inexhaustible beautiful theme in my work, studying the Skull from different angles, be it a real animal skull, an image on canvas or embroidery on fabric. And at the end of my endless branching thought, the Skull is the most sincere and real nature morte. Mixed Media, Canvas One of a kind artwork Size: 110 × 110 × 2 cm This artwork is sold unframed The painting is titled and signed on the back.

My art is best described as “mystical realism”. Themes of untouched nature and precious moment of timelessness can be witnessed in my art throughout my creative career. I combine decorativeness and graphicity with transparent painting to make my works full of lightness and air. The use of different textures in one picture - gold, oil and an uncoated canvas make each work an almost tangible experience, inviting to plunge into its mystical space. An open composition immerses the viewer in a state of ringing silence and comprehensive peace, inviting into otherworldly, unsteady state, distance yourself away from reality and enjoy a moment outside of time.
